At Lakefront Psychology, LLC our approach to individual therapy is based on research supported interventions for a variety of emotional and social concerns.
We often combine different approaches to best meet each individual’s complex concerns. Treatment is always personalized and flexible, depending on your presenting concerns, personal style, and belief system. We highly value teaching people specific strategies to manage the concerns that brought you to treatment in the first place.
We enjoy teaching new skills for you to practice in between sessions so you have the confidence to continue growing long after the therapy sessions end.
During the initial consultation we will decide together how often we should begin meeting.
Typically, individual sessions are scheduled every week or every other week for the first month or two. Then we often space out these sessions further depending on your needs.
Timing of therapy is always an on-going discussion as we explore what is or is not helpful to you along the way.
